Dr Andrei Marinescu is a Research Fellow at CONNECT in Trinity College Dublin. His research work involves the application of machine learning techniques for LTE networks optimization.
He received his Bachelor in Telecommunications from “Transilvania” University of Brasov, in Romania in 2009. During the 2008/2009 academic year he was an Erasmus Exchange Student at Aalborg University in Denmark. In 2010 he received a Masters of Science in Engineering from Aalborg University with a focus on Signal Processing with specialisation in GPS Technology. He received his PhD from Trinity College Dublin in 2015 after researching distributed autonomic control solutions for dynamic environments (with smart grids as the application area) as part of the Distributed Systems Group at the School of Computer Science and Statistics.
His research interests include reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, predictive analytics, dynamic fractional frequency reuse, and energy demand forecasting.
