Dr Aoife Lucid is a CONNECT funded Postdoctoral Researcher at Tyndall National Institute (Materials Theory Group).
She graduated from University College Cork in 2013 with a BSc in Chemical Physics. In 2018 she graduated with her PhD from Trinity College Dublin with a thesis entitled “Computational Modelling of Solid Oxide Electrolytes and their Interfaces for Energy Applications”. Her research interests include using both first principles and classical computational methods to investigate the impact of dopants and interfaces in energy materials. In 2016 she was the winner of the New Materials Zone in the “I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here!” outreach competition.
Her current work focuses on multi-scale simulation and design of thin film thermoelectric materials for applications in powering the Internet of Things.
