Christian Blümm is a Research Fellow at CONNECT in Trinity College Dublin since 2015.
He holds a Dr.-Ing. degree (PhD) from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, where he collaborated with Airbus Group Innovations/Munich in researching adaptive waveform design for FPGA-based Software Defined Radios.
At CONNECT, he leads the development of FPGA prototypes and designs for a broad range of topics including Long-Reach Passive Optical Networks (LR-PONs), Dynamic Spectrum Access and Green Communications.
He also chairs the CONNECT group for Wireless-Optical convergence.
His current research interests include FPGA design, digital signal processing, PHY and MAC layers for wireless and optical communications, as well as C-RAN and Fronthauling.
