Farrukh Aziz Bhatti is a Research Fellow at CONNECT in Trinity College Dublin. He is a member of Prof. Luiz DaSilva‘s research team.
He received his BE and MS degrees in avionics engineering and electrical engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. He received his PhD degree from The University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 2014 for his work on spectrum sensing in cognitive radios. During his PhD he undertook research field trips to the Industrial Research Ltd Wellington and the Wireless @ Virginia Tech research group in the United States.
After his PhD he served as an Assistant Professor in the department of electrical engineering at the Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan, where he was also a Principal Investigator of a project on 5G that was funded by Higher Education Commission.
His research interests include 5G networks, dynamic spectrum management, intelligent control of wireless networks, software-defined radios and cognitive radio networks.
