Hossein Ajorloo

Research Fellow


Hossein Ajorloo is an EDGE MSCA Research Fellow at CONNECT in University College Cork (UCC).

He received his PhD from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in Computer Engineering in 2012. He also holds two MSc degrees in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran and two BSc degrees in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran.

His current research interests are in designing computer network protocols, the MAC layer of wireless networks, and IoT. His EDGE project “mmWaveIoT” will address the design of a media access control (MAC) protocol for massive IoT devices compatible with the mmWave and 5G access network requirements, following his recent work focused on designing a distributed MAC protocol for wireless devices using mmWave technology, which is called fair distributed reservation protocol (FDRP).
