Jawad Ali

PhD Researcher


Jawad Ali is a visiting PhD researcher at CONNECT in Trinity College Dublin under the supervision of Adam Narbudowicz.

Jawad Ali received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering from COMSATS IIT, PAK-The University Lancaster, UK (Collaborative Degree Programme) and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) in 2014 and 2018, respectively.

Currently, he is affiliated with High Frequency Systems Laboratory (HFS), Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) and pursuing his PhD in Electrical & Software System Engineering. He joined CONNECT, TCD as a Visiting PhD Researcher and working on “The Indoor Localization of People and Objects using RFID Tags”, where he is investigating multi-beam antennas for orientation sensing.

Jawad has authored/co-authored 23 research articles in International Peer-Reviewed Journals and Conferences. He has been awarded twice with Research Productivity Award by COMSATS, Publication Award by UTHM, IDS Travel Grant by EuRAAP in 17th EuCAP. He is a recipient of NSTDA-KMUTNB Gold Medal Scholarship by KMUTNB for his PhD study. His research interests are Dielectric Based Material study, Smart Antennas, RFID Antennas, Localization Stdy Electromagnetic Simulations and Reconfigurable Antenna.
