Kanika Sharma is a PhD Researcher at CONNECT in the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) at Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland.
As part of her PhD research, she is investigating ‘Service and Resource Management for Intelligent Transport Systems’. She is working on flexible provisioning and orchestration of distributed services on mobile nodes. Her work also includes utilizing the mobility patterns of urban vehicle traffic to deploy these decomposed services on selected vehicle clusters. Her research interests include: Fog/Cloud Computing, Service-Oriented Computing, Software Defined Networking and Mathematical Modeling.
She has previously worked as a Junior Research Fellow in the Electrical Engineering Department at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, under a project titled “Development in Sensor Web Enablement”. She received her Bachelors of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from The LNM Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur, India, in 2014.
