Richard Twohig is responsible for management of the EDGE programme, a Marie Sklodowska-Curie COFUND scheme to fund postdoctoral fellowships in ICT.
Richard is a certified Project Management Professional (PMI) with broad experience in coordinating research and innovation activity in both academic and industry roles.
With a background in chemical engineering (University of Cambridge) and renewable energy systems (Maynooth University), Richard has worked in diverse environments, for multinationals, start-ups and research centres. Past projects have included downhole monitoring for hydrocarbon wells, blockage and leak detection systems for pipelines on land and in deep water, and developing light harvesting devices to power sensor networks.
In recent years Richard has focussed on post-award management of national and EU funding awards for advanced research themes, providing support, people-management and leadership to the teams involved, to ensure smooth progress and mutually beneficial results.
