Salvatore Tedesco

Research Fellow


Salvatore Tedesco is a Senior R&D Engineer in Tyndall National Institute where he leads the Wearable and Biomechanical Systems Team in the Wireless Sensor Network Group.

Salvatore Tedesco holds a MEngSc in Telecommunications Engineering (Hons), and a BSc Information Engineering (Hons) from University of Salento, Lecce, Italy, obtained in 2011 and 2008, respectively, and joined the Wireless Sensor Network Group at the Tyndall National Institute in 2012.

His team research focuses on the development of novel wearable technology for healthcare and fitness applications and data science.

He has been working and managing several industrial and research-oriented projects both at national and international level focused on wearable technologies, specifically in the area of healthcare and well-being.

He is PI/co-Pi of several research grants, he has published more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, and supervises undergraduates and masters students. He is a reviewer for numerous international conferences, journals, and funding bodies, and IEEE Member.
