Sasitharan (Sasi) Balasubramaniam received a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics) from the University of Queensland in 1998, a Masters of Engineering Science (Computer and Communication Engineering) from the Queensland University of Technology in 1999 and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Queensland in 2005 under the supervision of Prof. Jadwiga Indulska.
Sasi is currently Adjunct Research Professor at the Telecommunication Software and Systems Group at Waterford Institute of Technology. He is also an Academy of Finland Research Fellow at the Nano Communication Centre (NCC) in the Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering at the Tampere University of Technology, Finland where leads the molecular communications research track. His research interests include bacteria nanonetworks, calcium signalling in the tissue, as well as the Internet of Nano Things (IoNT).
