Seán Óg Murphy

Research Fellow

Seán Óg is a Research Fellow at CONNECT in University College Cork (UCC).

He is also a researcher within the MISL and Insight groups at UCC. His research is focused on the development of automated drone flight for search and rescue applications. This work investigates methods of localising isolated individuals in emergency situations using autonomous flying drones, exploiting GSM/GPRS protocols and GPS to discover the positions of lost individuals.

Seán Óg received his PhD from University College Cork in 2014. His other research interests include pedestrian simulation, pharmaceutical expert systems, and home energy-use optimisation.

He also lectures on Digital Multimedia as part of the Digital Humanities course in UCC.
