Sourav Mondal

Research Fellow


Sourav Mondal is a Research Fellow at CONNECT in Trinity College Dublin.

Sourav Mondal received Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Melbourne in 2020. He received his M.Tech in Telecommunication Systems Engineering from the Department of Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, and B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Kalyani Govt. Engineering College, affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology in 2014 and 2012, respectively.

His research interests include Cloud/Edge Access Networks, Wireless and Optical Communication Networks, Network Economics, Mathematical Optimization Theory, Game Theory, Queuing Theory, Deep Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning.

Since January 2021 he has joined the CONNECT research centre as an EDGE/Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoc Fellow, working on the project “Edge-Intelligent Network Slicing and Economics in Multi-Service Enabled Networks” with Prof. Marco Ruffini. He is primarily investigating the next-generation optical front/mid-haul architectures for Beyond 5G Open-RAN and modelling of shared multi-tenant networks by economic and game-theoretic tools.
