Tharindu Ranathunga is a PhD researcher at the Cork Institute of Technology.
Tharindu did his undergraduate degree in computer science at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He was part of a successful final year research project to implement a system that detects the presence of elephants using their infrasonic emissions near human habitats and then localize their positions as a solution to the human-elephant conflict.
He is pursuing his PhD Nimbus Centre, Cork Institute of Technology and he is working on decentralized trust management of IoT employing distributed ledger technology. His research interests are Blockchain, DAG, IoT, and Cloud Computing.
