Academy of the Near Future shortlisted for Seoul Smart City Prize

Academy of the Near Future, CONNECT’s smart city education partnership with Dublin City Council, has been shortlisted for the Seoul Smart City Prize. 

The Seoul Smart City Prize is designed to promote an innovative yet inclusive smart city model that looks after underprivileged groups in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that is driven by information and communication technology.

The news comes just a week after announcing a new project with the the Cellnex foundation, building on the expertise of Academy of the Near Future and bringing it a national audience.

CONNECT is the world leading Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Future Networks and Communications. CONNECT is funded under the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centres Programme and is co-funded under the European Regional Development Fund. We engage with over 35 companies including large multinationals, SMEs and start-ups. CONNECT brings together world-class expertise from ten Irish academic institutes to create a one-stop-shop for telecommunications research, development and innovation.
