Dr Alan Davy (CONNECT Funded Investigator in TSSG at Waterford Institute of Technology) has addressed the second Towards TeraHertz Communications workshop hosted at the European Commission in Brussels.
His presentation entitled “Data Centre Use Case for THz wireless links” was part of the “THz Communications: candidate bands, modelling and use cases” session. He also chaired a session on the “Standardisation, Regulation and Metrology for THz Communication.”
Alan is the coordinator of the Horizon 2020 project TERAPOD: TeraHertz based Ultra High Bandwidth Wireless Access Networks, which aims to demonstrate THz wireless systems within a data centre setting. The Brussels event was organised by the ICT Beyond 5G Cluster, of which TERAPOD is a part, funded under the ICT-09-2017 “Networking Research Beyond 5G” call.
