Leading IoT companies Davra Networks and Orbiwise are to work with the CONNECT Centre in the countrywide roll out of the Pervasive Nation Internet of Things network.
Orbiwise, the Swiss-based IoT firm, will supply network management software while Irish start-up Davra Networks will provide the application enablement and data management platform.
Pervasive Nation is a new Internet of Things research infrastructure funded by Science Foundation Ireland to facilitate academic research and the testing of pre-commercial ideas by Irish companies. It is based largely on the use of Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technology.
“This is our first engagement with the Irish Internet of Things landscape,” said Domenico Arpaia, CEO of Orbiwise. “Our software solution, UbiQ, is particularly suited to Pervasive Nation; it requires minimal operating expense and is capable of supporting millions of connected objects while allowing the entire network to be operated from a single web-based graphical user interface.”
Paul Glynn, CEO of Davra Networks, said Pervasive Nation provided an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the capacity of their RuBAN™ platform. “Pervasive Nation involves the large scale deployment of sensors across Ireland and will generate large quantities of complex data. RuBAN™ will take this sensor and network data and present it in an easy to understand and usable format. This step is critically important for the delivery of any successful IoT application.”
