Daniela Iacopino from Tyndall delivered a keynote lecture titled ‘Fabrication of Green Electronic Materials and Components for Sustainable Energy Storage and Harvesting’
at EnerHarv 2024, held in Perugia, Italy, from 26-28 June.
CONNECT was proud to sponsor the poster session at the event which attracted 85 participants and aligned with CONNECT’s ‘Sustainable IoT’ working group activities, which focus on the responsible and sustainable use of energy and materials. CONNECT’s team played an integral role in both organising and presenting at the event.
Event Highlights from CONNECT Researchers:
Eoin Ahern from Tyndall presented on the ‘Energy Harvesting Testbed for Optimising Energy-constrained WSN Nodes and Network’ and Valeria Nico from the University of Limerick participated in the Panel Session: Ecosystems (Panel 2E), presenting on CONNECT’s energy research for sustainable IoT solutions. She also organized and chaired the poster session.
Ibnu Taufen and Nouman Ghafour from the University of Limerick, along with Mario Costanza, Eoin Ahern, and Neil Curtis from Tyndall, showcased their research through poster presentations at the event. In addition to their posters, Eoin Ahern, Mario Costanza, Ibnu Taufen, and Nouman Ghafour also gave demonstrations, further highlighting various aspects of energy research and sustainable solutions and contributing to the overall discourse on innovative approaches within the field.
Further representation at the event included Mike Rudden, who managed the booth. Session chairs included Brendan O’ Flynn and James Rohan from Tyndall, as well as Valeria Nico from the University of Limerick. Mike Hayes from Tyndall, who served as the conference co-chair commented on the success of the event,
‘The excitement and enthusiasm was infectious. Nothing beats in-person engagement like this. Participants tell us there is no event like this out there that brings industry and academia together, showcases our work, demonstrates impact and fosters ideas, relationships and collaboration. On behalf of the co-chairs, a big ‘molte grazie’ to our hosts and entire workshop committee’.

EnerHarv 2024, held at the Perugia Congress Centre at Hotel Giò, was the biennial international workshop on energy harvesting and related technologies organised by PSMA and hosted by University of Perugia and the VITALITY project. This event offered a platform for the world’s leading experts and users in energy harvesting, energy storage, and micro-power management to share their knowledge and best practices.
