This new co-production between University College Cork and RTÉ captures a pivotal moment in global communications history—the laying of the world’s first transatlantic cable between Valentia Island, County Kerry, and Newfoundland, Canada, 165 years ago. Narrated by Jessie Buckley, this documentary delves into the birth of modern telecommunications.
