David is the Funding Diversification Manager at CONNECT.

He joined the team in January 2019 with significant experience in the management and administration of research funding within higher education. He joined the team from Dublin City University and has also worked at University College Dublin, Imperial College London, Trinity College Dublin and The Open University.

A core element of David’s role is to support CONNECT’s researchers to secure additional funding for research activities from Non-Exchequer Non-Commercial (NE-NC) sources. The main source for NE-NC is the Framework Programme of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation – the current programme is Horizon Europe.

David has BA and MA degrees from University College Dublin and a PhD from the University of Nottingham.
