David Malone is a CONNECT Funded Investigator at Maynooth University.
He received BA(mod), MSc and PhD degrees in mathematics from Trinity College Dublin in 1996, 1997 and 2000 respectively.
During his time as a postgraduate, he became a member of the FreeBSD development team. After working in research and development at Corvil Networks, in 2001 he moved to the Dublin Institute of Technology as a senior researcher as part of Prof John Lewis’s research team in communications networks.
In 2004, David moved to Maynooth University’s Hamilton Institute, where he works on network problems, including WiFi, PLC and password use. His general interests include mathematical models of wireless networking, network measurement and IPv6. He is the author of O’Reilly’s “IPv6 Network Administration”.
