Ian Donohue

Funded Investigator


Ian Donohue is a Funded Investigator at CONNECT in Trinity College Dublin.

Ian is Associate Professor in Ecology and Head of the Department of Zoology in the School of Natural Sciences at Trinity College Dublin. He uses theory and experiments to explore how biological networks respond to perturbations. The overarching aim of his research is to understand and predict how ecosystems respond to environmental change.

He is the recipient of the Ecological Society of America Innovations in Sustainability Science Award for his interdisciplinary research on ecological stability and was elected Fellow of Trinity College Dublin in 2016.

He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Environment Agency, and is an Editor for the leading journals Ecology Letters and Global Change Biology.
