Dr. Lester Ho is a Funded Investigator in CONNECT, and Principal Scientist at the Tyndall National Institute in Dublin where he is creating the Wireless Access research team.
Previously, he spent 20 years performing research in wireless networks in Nokia Bell Labs, where he was a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff. There, he performed research in the areas of self-optimizing networks, cellular architectures, and network energy efficiency. He has invented the self-optimization techniques and scalable architectures that enabled the commercial deployment of small cells, where many of his innovations are used in live cellular networks today.
His current research interests are in network optimization at the physical to network layers, O-RAN, machine learning, quantum repeater networks, and wireless network simulations.”
