Victor Cionca is a Senior Researcher in the Nimbus Centre at Cork Institute of Technology.
He has a Dipl. Eng. from the Computer Science department of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in Romania, and a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Limerick. His main line of work is in understanding, optimising and controlling wireless networks, with almost 10 years of experience in designing models, algorithms and protocols for wireless sensor networks.
His research interests include algorithms for energy harvesting systems, software defined networking and communications security. Victor is also actively involved in the Science Foundation Ireland funded SURF project and in developing an Open Data framework in collaboration with the Cork City Council.
