CONNECT Showcases at Fyuz 2024

The CONNECT Centre took stage at Fyuz 2024, one of the year’s most prominent gatherings for future network technologies.

From thought-provoking Future Network panels on next-generation connectivity to an engaging exhibition booth in partnership with Benetel, CONNECT demonstrated its leadership in shaping the future of telecommunications.

Fyuz is a global event where technology, policy, and innovation converged to shape the future of telecommunications. Known for its focus on OpenRAN, 5G/6G networks, and advancements in network infrastructure, it provided an important  platform for industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to share insights and drive progress.

This year’s theme, “Accelerate”, reflected the mission to advance innovation and spotlight the latest technological breakthroughs. For the first time, FYUZ 2024 was held in Dublin, a city celebrated for its vibrant tech community and creative energy.

CONNECT partnered with Benetel, an Irish company specialising in OpenRAN solutions, to showcase practical applications of emerging telecom technologies. The joint exhibition booth provided a hands-on experience for attendees, featuring:

• Interactive demonstrations of OpenRAN technology and its potential to transform network efficiency and scalability.
• Insights into how CONNECT and Benetel’s collaboration bridges the gap between foundational research and market-ready solutions for telecom operators worldwide.
• Engaging conversations with researchers and industry experts, emphasizing CONNECT’s mission to translate research into real-world impact.

CONNECT Centre’s Future Network Panel Discussions

The CONNECT Centre hosted a series of panel discussions during the event, addressing key topics in the telecoms sector:

RAN Efficiency with CONNECT
Monday, 11th November 
This session examined the challenges and solutions related to energy efficiency in next-generation networks. As demands for ultra-low latency and high data rates increased, experts discussed optimising hardware, software, and cloud orchestration to achieve greater energy savings.

Are We Ready for the AI Tsunami?
Tuesday, 12th November | 16:00 – 17:30
With the surge of generative AI applications, the need for higher-capacity, lower-latency networks has grown. This panel explored building robust network tools to support AI-driven advancements, particularly in the context of 6G development.

Confluent Technologies for 6G Networks
Wednesday, 13th November | 14:00 – 15:30
This discussion focused on integrating radio, optical, and data systems for 6G networks. By combining cutting-edge technologies such as sub-terahertz, optical wireless, and open networks, the panel examined pathways to achieve seamless, high-speed, and low-latency communications.

Fyuz 2024 proved to be more than just an event—it was a platform for forging new partnerships and strengthening existing collaborations. CONNECT’s participation reflected its commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in OpenRAN, AI-driven networks, and next-generation telecom solutions.
