Research Fellow (Postdoctoral) – Technology and Society

The CONNECT Centre at Trinity College Dublin invites applications for a  Postdoctoral Research Fellow (20-month contract) for the engaged research project ‘Cultures of Change’ (see full project description below). The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of researchers undertaking research in the area of civic participation and technology development. The post will be jointly situated in the School of Education, Trinity College Dublin and the School of Engineering, Trinity College Dublin and as funded by the Research Ireland Centre for Future Networks CONNECT. The principal investigators of the project are Prof Ann Devitt and Prof Dan Kilper, and the collaborators on the project are Dr Fiona McDermott and Grace D’Arcy. The successful candidate will be based in Dublin and will become part of CONNECT Centre’s groups on Network Ecologies and Smart Cities. The candidate will work in collaboration with researchers as part of the Academy of the Near Future education programme and the Smart Docklands project. The candidate will also join the Science and Society Research Group at Trinity College Dublin. Remote work is not available as the fellow is expected to actively participate in the Dublin area with local communities and research network.

 

Research Fellow (Postdoctoral) – Technology and Environment

The CONNECT Centre at Trinity College Dublin invites applications for a  Postdoctoral Research Fellow (20 month contract) for the research project ‘INTUIT’ . The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of researchers undertaking research in the area of telecommunications development and the environment. The post will be situated in the School of Engineering, Trinity College Dublin and as funded by CONNECT Research Ireland Centre for Future Networks . The principal investigator of the project is Dr Fiona McDermott, and the collaborators on the project are Dr Tom O’Dea (NCAD), Dr Harun Šiljak (TCD) and Prof Dirk Pesch (UCC). The successful candidate will be based in Dublin and will become part of CONNECT Centre’s working groups on Network Ecologies and Sustainable IoT. The candidate will work in collaboration with researchers from across the different academic partners of the CONNECT research centre and so will involve undertaking fieldwork in Dublin and other locations in Ireland. A travel budget is available for fieldwork and / or attending conferences/workshops (nationally and internationally).

 

Post-doc fellow in Resilient 6G Networks through Robust Topology & Fungibility

The CONNECT Centre at Trinity College Dublin invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship to work on the development of resilient 6G networks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in network topology and fungibility, addressing critical challenges in the field.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and innovative research environment, working closely with leading experts in telecommunications.

Research Topic: Sustainable Computing at Edge-Cloud Continuum
