Fiona McDermott represents Ireland at 2021 Venice Biennale

Fiona McDermott, CONNECT researcher at Trinity College Dublin, is part of the research and design collective Annex which is curating the Irish Pavilion, ‘Entanglement’, at the 2021 Venice Biennale.

The pavilion will explore the materiality of data infrastructure and its impact on architectural space, e.g., a Facebook ‘like’ in Malaysia can trigger the emission of heat from a server on the outskirts of Dublin.

It will be launched via YouTube by Minister Catherine Martin, TD, at 3.30pm, Thursday, 2o May. Details here.
