SFI launch Industry Fellowship Programme

Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) has launched the Industry Fellowship Programme which supports the 12-month secondment of a postdoctoral researcher to work in a company. The deadline for submission is Wednesday, 28 August 2019.

For Postdoctoral Researchers:

  • Do you want to gain valuable experience through a 12-month placement in industry?
  • Do you want to enhance your CV by winning competitive research funding in your own name?

The SFI Industry Fellowship Programme is an ideal opportunity for you to meet both of these goals. This Fellowship supports a 12-month full-time placement in industry. An SFI Industry Fellowship will give you (i) industrial experience working on a research project addressing a key business concern of your host company, (ii) significant professional development through a structured training programme provided by your host company.

Several companies have already been in touch about hosting a postdoctoral researcher from CONNECT through this SFI Industry Fellowship Programme. Please contact CONNECT’s Industry Programme Managers, Mark (mark.cooney@connectcentre.ie) and Martin (martin.johnsson@connectcentre.ie) for more information about these potential host companies.

For Companies:

The SFI Industry Fellowship provides an opportunity to have an experienced researcher (with a PhD qualification) work with you full-time on your premises for 12 months on a project defined by you. The researcher can be someone you identify, either already working in an Irish university or the holder of a PhD awarded by an Irish university currently based abroad. The researcher’s salary, and a mobility allowance, will be paid by SFI for the duration of their placement with you. They can work with you in Ireland or at any of your premises abroad.

For more information, please contact CONNECT’s Industry Programme Managers, Mark (mark.cooney@connectcentre.ie) and Martin (martin.johnsson@connectcentre.ie)
