CONNECT Research Ireland Centre for Future Networks and Communications is delighted to announce its membership in the prestigious Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF). This partnership aligns with CONNECT’s cutting-edge research focus areas, including radio communication technologies, 6G, cybersecurity, digital health, and connected vehicles.
For over 20 years, WWRF has been a spearhead for the development of wireless technologies, serving as a valuable platform for industry professionals and academics to publish, exchange, and discuss critical research topics as they evolve. Additionally, WWRF offers student grants exclusively for member organisations, providing early-stage researchers at CONNECT with exceptional opportunities to present and publish their work on a global stage.
Professor Holger Claussen, Head of Tyndall’s Wireless Communications Laboratory and a CONNECT Principal Investigator, emphasised the importance of this membership:
“We are delighted to see CONNECT joining WWRF. This is a most welcome development, and we look forward to contributing to and engaging in discourse on wireless technologies for 6G and beyond. We would also aim to tackle critical verticals such as connected vehicles and address key system challenges like cybersecurity.”
WWRF’s mission is to create a smart future by fostering research that achieves unbounded communications to address societal challenges. The Forum supports innovation, business development, social inclusion, and the infrastructure needed to realise a dependable future Internet of people, knowledge, and things.
A Global Leader in Wireless Innovation
